Dabuu Networks Hosting Review (Dabuu.com)

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth
Here’s my honest review. I’ve been with Dabuu for about 9 days now and because of my experience with them, I just have to leave a review here. I signed up and paid for a 1 year reseller hosting package thinking it was a good deal and after seeing the staff of Dabuu replying in a professional manner here on WHT.

Unfortunately, the recent downtime has shown me the ugly side of dabuu hosting. My site and others were down for over 24 hours due to a claimed “automatic update”. None of the customers were informed about this update and when the sites were down, no emails were sent out to inform customers or keep them up to date on the situation. The only update was them acknowledging the issue on social media more than 15 hours after the downtime started. Emails could not be sent to them as their servers were down so there was practically no way to communicate with them either.

After the sites were back up, I requested for them to push my free domain (which comes with the annual payment) to my account at the domain registrar which they initially refused, saying that it had to be under their account for the term of my hosting. They eventually pushed the domain to me after multiple emails though.

Since the downtime was within the first 7 days of my service, I also requested for a full refund (minus the domain cost of course) which was rejected right away. Reason? In their own words…

We do not provide refunds, or a money back guarantee due to the services we provide and the resources we can’t reclaim – that is our standard policy as detailed within our terms and with the only exception being cancellation shortly after purchase, with no resources used and no addons/domains added. The services was provisioned to you and is available, with our utmost efforts to avoid such issues in future and provide a stable service.

Apart from that, my site has been down multiple times after the issue was supposed to resolved. Sometimes for 15 minutes, sometimes for 3 hours, as monitored by uptime robot. Anyone who still wishes to use their hosting services should note that they do not have a SLA guarantee and the “99.9% uptime” stated on their website means nothing at all with regards to the hosting that you’ll receive. For all you know, you could receive hosting that goes down 50% of the time and there’s no way you can get a refund, unless they’re generous enough to offer you credit for the next payment.

We aim for 99.9% uptime and achieved this last month but will not this month due to the software issues, but this is not a condition of service and although we don’t provide an SLA have offered account credit to all affected clients.

That being said, dabuu.com is after all budget hosting and if you have non-important sites to host, their prices are probably among the lowest you can find. Personally I’ve learnt my lesson the hard way and will be looking for another host for my important sites.

Hope this review helps someone.
