Discovering parent hosting companies

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

Hello, I was wondering if anyone who’s experienced in the industry could shed some light on how to find out which parent datacenter or hosting company a reseller may be using?

The idea for me is there is there’s always a lot of “marketing magic” that happens when people begin experimenting with trends, offering new features and so on. But along with the smoke & mirrors exists the complication that very little technical information may be known or disclosed about products or services offered. But if someone knows what kind of software and hardware, or what type of network technologies are used it can greatly offer confidence and peace of mind to buyers.

So does anyone have any tips or a process that they use (perhaps involving nameservers or IP’s) to discover a parent hosting company even if it’s behind whitelabel nameservers?
