please tell us do you need Shared, VPS or Dedicated hosting? How many space you need, budget etc..

My recommendation are hostdime, scalahosting, iweb.com or search the forum for a good offer.

Sorry, I didn’t give much info.

I am completely new to creating/hosting a forum. I’m going to be using phpbb.

I do not have a budget as of yet because I am not sure how much per month hosting will cost. Lets just say the cheaper the better. Also an easy to use host would be best. As I said I am new to all this and trying to keep it as simple as possible.

I am not sure how much space I need. If I said there will be 40-50 active members posting and an extra 50 members who rarely post. How much space you think I will need?

Well looks like a basic shared hosting provider will work for you.
Find one that has Softaculous or any other plugin able to install phpbb in one click. Since you are new to this, it will help get your phpbb installation up and running quickly.

Any Shared Web Hosting provider will do the trick for you by the sounds of it.

Good providers off the top of my head include HawkHost and CrocWeb.

Ok, So I now have hosting at speedycrows. Now how do I go about adding a php forum?

and how do I link it to filezilla?

Expect lots of questions, its taken me 2 days to get this far but it seems the people here actually help lol

I dont know if Speedycrows use Softaculous scripts installer, but check within the cPanel they provided for it.

About filezilla, its a program used to FTP files to/from a server, in this case your web hosting account.

In any case, if you have questions I’m sure Speedycrows staff will help you out thru their Support system.

I can’t locate the cPanel. Their website has minimal links/pages and nothing links me to a cPanel.

Check your mail for a welcomemail. Should be www.yourdomain.com/cpanel or xxx.xx.xxx.xx/cpanel (Their IP).
With Softaculouse, you should be able to install PHPBB within seconds and it’ll be much easier to keep track of updates later on
But, I’ll recommend MyBB instead of PHPbb. I think it’s easier to use and looks better

Your best bet is to contact their support staff
