Hopefully this all makes sense.

I’m looking to create a .com site for fantasy sports blogging and have been looking at wordpress and know that when I create my blog I can pay $18 a year to make it a .com site. I am curious as to what the difference is between that, and what GoDaddy.com has for their managed WP for around $6.30 a month.

Obviously the GoDaddy managed WP is more expensive, but what added benefits does it provide over just paying the $18 a year to WP to make it a .com?

I know I sound like a total rookie at this (because I am), but looking around this seems like a great site to get answers to some of the questions I know nothing about.

Thanks for any help.
