Godaddy 404 error, returning 200 ok

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

Hi, hope everyone has a great Xmas and New Year!

anyone know how to get Godaddy shared hosting to stop sending 200 ok response for a 404 error, I tried everything from 404 header response in my script to trying their 404 custom setting, both the custom setting and even the home page setting inside account, nothing works, even waited for things to settle afterwards like I read somewhere.

Do not let anyone tell you a 200 ok is normal for a 404, you need to tell the SE that page no longer exist, or its going to keep coming back trying to index that over and over. why I cannot set something so basic as this is unbelievable.

If anyone has done this, please let me know how you did that.

Thanks
Sonny
