googlebot throwing mod_qos errors??

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

I am seeing alot of these types of entries in my logs.

[Wed Jan 22 18:25:25 2014] [error] [client 66.249.74.88] mod_qos(045): access denied, invalid request line: can’t parse uri, c=66.249.74.88, id=UuANFW1Lp9kAAH7AwKsAAAFT

66.249.74.88 is a google bot ip address.

Our servers have been under tremendous strain lately with mod_qos attacks and wordpress brute force logins and we are able to fend them off but dont really want to block the google.

Any ideas anyone?

Is this the start of idiots spoofing google ip’s?
