Hawkhost and vBbulletin 4 spam – suggestion required.

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

Hello Wesbhosting talk people, I had a few questions in mind and just joined up.

I have been with Hawkhost for almost 2 years now, Great company, great staff, no complaints. I was however quite shocked to get a message in my email (2 weeks old) that said the account was suspended due to excess usage of CPU and Disk. Its overall a very small community with minor activity over the past few years running on Its a small vbulletin 4 forum with vbseo.

Your queries to the database tomorr10_vbulletin are causing extremely large temporary tables due to the fact the database in question is 13GB in size. We don’t know if this forum has been taken over by spam or…

PS: I no longer run the forum due to personal reasons and also due to being quite busy, although many years ago me an a few others helped found it as a small gaming and computers related forum. The new guys who I left it upon were a bit illiterate about forum software management failed to keep the forum software up to date and to point that the forum was taken over by spam and caused excess usage of Hawkhost.

Long story short, I am thinking about moving to SMF or MY BB Keeping it simple and lite as a possible long term solution and ease of use for newbies who want to run forums, the forum spam can be a hard time but vbseo also is quite the resource eater, to be honest I dont see sticking with vbulletin 4 anymore, although a small blog(WordPress?) to migrate the CMS/BLOG posts would be great. I am thinking of moving the forum software altogether, What do you guys suggest?
