Am having some issues with something(s) within my hosting environment maxing out CPU and one or two other resources quite frequently, which seems quite strange as I have nothing complex nor heavily trafficked, nor do I use boundless numbers of plugins on my wordpress site. But it is what it is, and likely to be some renegade plugin or script somewhere causing an issue.
I asked my host if they could point me to the script (or scripts) that were causing the issues, or the domains, and I could then investigate and address. Seems like a fairly reasonable request I thought. But they told me they didn’t have this information.
They did ask for admin access to all my sites so they could investigate, which was nice of them, but I do have a few sites on there, and this does seem like a bit of an old fashioned (and slow!) way of doing what should be simple to identify I would have thought, with services such as New Relic around today (http://newrelic.com/server-monitoring).
So my request is for recommendations on shared hosts who have some good monitoring in place, where if there are script issues on the server causing CPU spikes or other issues, are able to direct their clients to the issue, at least for most of them.
Thanks in advance.
