MDDHosting, Hawk Host, StableHost – CPU/other limitations?

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

I’ve been with HostMonster for almost 5 years now, and it’s slowly gotten worse and worse over time. The performance, stability and customer service have all been terrible lately. With the servers going down again yesterday, I’m officially done with them. My subscription is set to renew in a couple of weeks, so now is the time to switch.

After doing some research, I’ve sort of settled on either MDDHosting, Hawk Host or StableHost – in that order. I’m leaning heavily toward MDDHosting at the moment, as it offers the most for my money in terms of their shared plans.

As far as I can see, all three are good and will offer much better service than I’m getting now, so I’m not too worried about that. However, has anyone used these and noticed any real differences between them as far as speed/stability/support?

What I’m most concerned about is resource usage and any other limitations that may come into play. I was almost going to go with Site5 but a ton of their reviews have stated that they have their own “point” system which they use to gauge resource usage, and many people with as few as 200 daily visitors are having their sites throttled or taken offline completely. I don’t want to have to deal with that. How strict are these three hosts regarding this? I’m using Drupal, which I’ve optimized as much as possible, and I don’t expect to have more than a thousand or so hits per day at first. Surprisingly, HostMonster hasn’t given me much trouble with this, so I don’t want to stumble into it now.

Are there any other limitations that I may run into as well, such as a limited number of files per directory (as with Site5), unreasonable limitations on sending email, etc? I’d contact the companies directly, but something tells me they’d rather keep this stuff hidden in the fine print until I run into it myself.

Any feedback would be appreciated!

tl/dr: Switching to one of these three hosts. What limitations (especially concerning resource usage) can I expect to run into?
