my poor experience with MnM Host

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

I have shared hosting with MnM Host. Last Saturday I was working away on my website creating pages (directly on the website not on my computer). The website failed, but I decided to leave it a few hours because I often think its better a little while before reporting a fault, because it might be a minor clitch.

I waited about 6 hours got MnM Host website up and found that their server status for their NL server showed it was down. I reported my non-responsive website.

24 hours passed, I replied to the ticket again asking what was going on. Another two hours passed before my ticket was responded too. The answer was that my site should be up and “I had fixed the issue this morning” – no other explanation.

I waited loosing business from the site every hour.

I waited another hour and a half as the site was still not working and replied to the ticket – no answer.

Another two hours later I replied to the ticket again as the site was still not working.

Two hours later again I was finally told what had happened -this was 36 hours after my initial fault ticket.

MnM host had shifted my hosting to another server. No warning . No notice. No emails at all.

At least I understand what is happening, but the explanations of why the site would not work consisted of “flush dns”.

3 hours later the site is still not working. I check via 3 different proxies – all show the site not working. I do a DNS check – it shows many DNS errors. I respond to the ticket again relaying this information.

A full SEVEN hours later I am told its just a DNS propagation error and it will all be fine soon.

I leave it 6 more hours test via all four proxies – its still not working and I reply again to the fault ticket at MnM Host.

They respond again after another 2 hours saying they made some changes, and that it might fix it.

An hour later the site is finally working after 3 days off the air.

However I find that all the hours of work I was doing the day the site was shifted without notice by MnM Host had all been deleted.

I respond to the ticket again – where is my hours of work and missing data? The answer was I should back up my site frequently!

So do I back it up every half and hour when I am working on it because MnM Host might suddenly decide to shift servers without notice?

MnM Host is to be avoided unless you like loosing data and having your site yanked to another server with no notice.
