Generally Vbulletin 4 and higher versions of vbulletin consume much more CPU/Memory than any old version of vbulletin due their poorly and heavily coded interface. You can optimize your MySQL Databases by logging in to your Admincp, go to Maintenance and click on Optimize Tables.
