Hey Guys,
I’m not too much of a noob when it comes to Web Hosting but I do have a pretty nooby question..Atleast I think it is.

I’ve been wondering how power is applied to Websites on a VPS?
What I mean is, does the total power of the VPS get divided across all hosting accounts? or is there basically a pool of power which goes where it needs to be most?

Reason i’m asking is because we have a clients website on one of our shared hosting servers which is running quite slow because of the Jquery scripts on some pages. We have thought maybe it would be best to give the website it’s own VPS at the clients expense. We’ve also been advised to do this also. But the main question is this. Why would it run faster on it’s own VPS rather than being on a the current VPS with other Users? Our other clients websites aren’t very active. So this is why I’m wondering if it would really make much of a difference. Just for reference we’re using Cpanel WHM.

And another question on the side. Would it make a difference if we game the account a dedicated IP?

Thanks
