So long time stalker, but first full post. Admins – if this is in the wrong area of the forums please let me know / move it.
I work for a small company (30 ish vm’s hosted on a couple esxi nodes .. running in a rack in the back room) – and we are looking at rolling out of R1Soft / Idera backup. As with all small company’s, cost is a major issue for us, and selling backups are not our core business (software integration / enterprise consulting is).
I am looking for input as to what the community thinks here – and to gage a level of interest.
Would anyone else be interested in a co-op for a bulk order of licenses? Or is anyone else already doing this that we could get in on? My guess first cut guess is we could get VM Agent licensing for $5.50 USD an agent (just a little less than that actually.. but payment feeds would probably bring it up to that).. all depending on what Idera actually charges after a couple rounds of negotiation I guess [and depending on license numbers].
Is anyone already doing something like this? Anyone interested? I don’t mind doing a lot of the legwork if people are keen – but there would need to be a level of commitment for users (payment to Idera is monthly, but they do have minimum terms).
