strange looking line in telnet results

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

I have just set up a new server and trying to connect to nominet.

However, something is a bit odd when running telnet command and because we cannot connect to nominet using the new server we are wondering if this is part of the issue.

In the OLD server telnet results look like this:

Code:

[root@mindy ~]# telnet epp.nominet.org.uk 700
Trying 213.248.242.39...
Connected to epp.nominet.org.uk.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

In the NEW server the results look like this:

Code:

[root@mork ~]# telnet epp.nominet.org.uk 700
Trying 2a01:618:8009:0:89c:bbf7:e6c4:e116...
Connected to epp.nominet.org.uk.
Escape character is '^]'.
Connection closed by foreign host.

Notice in NEW server there is a line: “Trying 2a01:618:8009:0:89c:bbf7:e6c4:e116…”.

IS this normal?
