Web-Hosting wiki vs knowledgebase

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

Off and on for the past few weeks, I’ve been thinking about whether or not a company’s wiki would be better over a knowledge base or vice versa.

Most billing solutions include a Knowledgebase of some sort. The few exceptions to this rule I can think of is Blesta, for version 3.x. (Though they are working on the Support Manager module which integrates that functionality, so that’s coming…).

We have our own wiki, though it’s taking a little longer than I’d like to fill out the wiki fully. Still, better to have some things and continually add to the wiki over time rather than not having anything.

So. Your thoughts, people? Is it better to have a Knowledgebase or a Wiki? Or both?
