Hi, I am using hawkhosting.com and while they aren’t bad, their servers do have issues more than I’d like.

At this point I’d rather pay more for higher reliability–who has a reputation for being the most reliable shared host?

There isn’t a single host which fits everyone’s requirements. Even amongst the “better hosts”, several hundreds of users are easily affected by downtime or latency due to DDoS or some problematic modules running and these issues mean that the hundreds of users aren’t getting a reliable service.

Have you tried contacting your current provider to see if things can be resolved? Perhaps a move to another server or resolving whatever went wrong on your current server.

Every host can have some problem at some time. No host can be 100% perfect. You can short list few provider from Shared hosting offer section and search for their reviews. You may ask for a test account / IP to test before actual purchase.

BTW, you have posted in wrong section. You should post in http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1
You can use red report button (top right) and request to move your thread to right section.

Moved > Web Hosting.

There’s no such thing as an unmanaged server – It’s actually self-managed. Worth remembering next time you’re looking for someone to complain to.
DATA VALUATION SERVICE: Your data’s value is linked directly to your backup strategy. If YOU don’t have your own backups then YOU value your data at ZERO. So why should anyone else care when you lose it?

Their domain seem be expired… most reliable shared host? It is hard to define. Evey hosting has positive and negative reviews. The only way is trying till you are satisfied.

There are many “reliable” hosting providers but we can’t really give a definite answer. Experiences from hosting providers varies from user-to-user, example I am extremely happy with hosting A (this is because i am well-knowledgeable on how to manage my hosting services / servers, so I only need good uptime and network) while other user find hosting A bad because there support is bad.

Well it depends on your expectations and how you define reliable. What kind or sort of reliability do you expect from a host?
