WHMCS – this is the billing platform Im supposed to trust???

Big on Hosting. Unlimited Space & Unlimited Bandwidth

Hello,

so, just wondering if anyone else is dealing with this issue. we use WHMCS for one of our brands and are using the Moneris Vault gateway.

Now, Moneris is a massive merchant provider in both the US and CAD. WHMCS really promotes this module and the extensive integration they have with it (honestly, the level of integration with the Moneris Vault in WHMCS is impressive – http://docs.whmcs.com/Moneris)

Basically, Moneris did some sort of update, and it broke the WHMCS module – fine, these things happen

WHMCS insisted for about a week that it was a Moneris issue. Finally, after begging them to actually look, they admitted it was their issue. Problem is, after not being able to process transactions for a WEEK, they said the earliest they would fix this is in TWO releases from now (basically months)

This would literally be a 10 mins fix (based on the changelog Moneris showed us, its a change to ONE line of code)

Asked them to provide us a patch now and put it in their roadmap for 2 versions from now, and they said no

Asked them to provide us the module unencoded so that we could fix it ourselves and get back to processing transactions – and they said no

basically they are telling me – too bad – you cant use your billing application – ie the sole reason we are using their product – to process payments

it scares me how many people use whmcs because they can be trusted. I can tell you, with all certainty, they are perfectly happy doing something stupid and crippling your business (which I can accept to be honest, as again, these things happen) – and then doing absolutely nothing about it and making it impossible for you to get a resolution (which is the part I simply cant live with or accept)

anyone else dealing with this issue? and anyone have a solution? right now, I just went out and got a new merchant account (which took almost a week) – but, this isnt a viable solution. PCI DSS concerns aside, we have other business requirements which drove the decision to use the moneris vault solution and we do need to ultimately stick with it (multiple brands, across multiple countries and currencies, tokenization, etc, etc – basically, the list of merchant providers who fit the required profile is quite small). we will likely just port this billing application to something else, and more then likely, just build our own for this brand – but, I am looking for something… anything.. that will help us out more immediately..

thanks in advance for any and all ideas…

PS

I need to go back and find that hostbill thread where I got roasted for actually having the nerve to speak about hostbill in a positive light

they had the same issue with Moneris (we use hostbill + moneris vault on other brands) – they provided us a patch on the SAME DAY and formally added the fix to their module in a future release
