More fuel for the fire…
I was a customer for 5+ years. Cancelled in January after I needed to contact support for the first time since the sale to EIG. Support was useless, and that was after a 1 1/2 hour wait in chat (includes 2 disconnects/stalled chat waiting sessions).
Received an email stating cancellations normally take 24 – 72 hours to process. No big deal as they had just billed me 2 days before this.
Recived another email 4 days later from Customer Loyalty stating they are so sorry to seem me go and they’d like to offer me a free month if I reconsider.
Received another email a week later from Customer Loyalty offering me up-sells as a reason to reconsider(????).
Received similar email to above a few days after that. This was the last I heard from them.
Checked my statement a few days ago and they charged me another month. I had to contact my bank, open an ‘unauthorized charge’ claim, which automatically cancelled my card reissues a new one.
In all, a royal pain in the ass after being a customer for over 5 years and referring a bunch of people to them in that time.
EIG is the Yahoo of web hosting… buy a company and destory it.
